Battalion A. G. M. At the A. G. M. held on 20th. August we were delighted to have the Brigade President The Very Reverend Professor Alan Main TD MA with us to present one of the Brigades highest honours, a Presidents Commendation, to Pte. Ewan Reid of the 3rd. Inverness Company. The award was made to mark the bravery and initiative shown by Ewan in alerting the emergency services and assisting during a fire in a neighbours property. At the A. G. M. we received our usual reports from our committees and endorsed the appointment of our Office Bearers, a list of whom can be found elsewhere on the website. Our Treasurer has prepared a directory and calendar for this session and this was issued to Company Captains who attended the meeting. Those who were not represented will have their copies sent on to them. A programme list is on the website.

Individual Table Tennis It was confirmed that the hall at Crown Church had been booked. However, there is a clash of dates on the 31st January, between the U-15 / U-19 competition and a Church Session meeting. Gary to check hall availability! Post meeting note:- Hall now booked for 14th February, as there is a Congregational Board meeting on the 7th February, as well as the Session meeting on the 31st January. Team Table Tennis 3 entries were confirmed at each age level, with the 2nd Company to confirm the teams that they are to enter as soon as possible. Thereafter, a draw will be done and issued to all parties. Indoor Football A number of entries were received for the U-13 and U-15 competitions and these will be run on the proposed dates. 3 entries were also received for an U-19 competition and it is proposed to hold this at Millburn on the evening of 18th November, starting at 6.30pm. Outdoor Football Peter Home asked that the meeting consider reintroducing the “105” league format, which was used prior to the publishing of a Brigade recommendation about segregating under 15 boys from boys that are 15+ while taking part in contact sports. The meeting, after much deliberation, decided to run a league based in an U015 format. A venue was also going to be a problem, with the pitches at the Astroturf being used permanently on a Saturday morning. Stewart McDonald undertook to speak to the Council Parks Dept. and a couple of schools as to the availability of pitches. Post meeting note:- Parks dept. confirmed that Bught Park would be available from November onwards; sets of small goals also available. League would be unable to start before 25th November due to the Indoor Football; do we wish to start league before or after Christmas? Seniors Ten Pin Bowling Date set for the 26th November at Rollerbowl from 7.00 p.m. Next Meeting:- Date to be agreed!
Anchor and Junior Sections Notes of meeting on 2nd. October. The Anchor Section event on 4th. November will take the form of a crafts and games event, the venue is still to be fixed. The Junior Section event on 18th. November will be a challenge event possibly in the Millburn Academy gym hall, with several stations with physical and mental activities for the boys to enjoy. The Anchor Section Collage subject is Transport, the Junior Section painting competition subject is creating a football mascot for the Boys BB Company. All entries should be handed in to the Supplies depot by Thursday 23rd. November. The Juniors Swimming Gala will again be a joint event with the Company and Seniors and is scheduled for 3rd. February, the venue is likely to be Culloden Academy Community pool after the relative success of last years event. The reason for using Culloden is its low charges with respect to the Aquadome charge which is becoming prohibitive. On 3rd.
