{"id":199,"date":"2015-11-03T17:25:25","date_gmt":"2015-11-03T17:25:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/highland.boys-brigade.org.uk\/?page_id=199"},"modified":"2015-11-04T09:06:07","modified_gmt":"2015-11-04T09:06:07","slug":"seniors-s4-s6","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/highland.boys-brigade.org.uk\/?page_id=199","title":{"rendered":"Seniors (S4 &#8211; S6)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>What is Seniors?<\/h3>\n<p>Seniors is for young people in Secondary 4 to Secondary 6 (15 to 18 year olds).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>What do Seniors do?<\/h3>\n<p>Seniors take part in the Challenge Plus programme, which is made up of Projects and Challenges as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Projects<\/strong>: These include taster sessions that act as an introduction to a topic and are then followed by a longer project that is designed and led by the young people. \u00a0Projects are grouped into 3 programme zones&#8230;\n<ul>\n<li>Community<\/li>\n<li>Life Skills<\/li>\n<li>Recreation &amp; Leisure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Challenges<\/strong>: These are focussed on activities that could be completed by the group or as an individual ranging from &#8216;Climb a Munro&#8217; to &#8216;Review a local takeaway&#8217;.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are also opportunities to work towards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Duke of Edinburgh&#8217; Award<\/li>\n<li>Saltire Awards<\/li>\n<li>Queen&#8217;s Badge<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It&#8217;s all about learning new skills, making your own decisions and having fun. \u00a0BB provides a safe environment to explore new possibilities and achieve personal goals while making friends and having adventures. \u00a0And it&#8217;s up to each young person to work out which opportunities are relevant for them, whether it&#8217;s sport&#8217;s officiating, fundraising or DIY.<\/p>\n<p>Every young person should also expect:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>to experience new challenges<\/li>\n<li>to be listened to and have a say<\/li>\n<li>to be respected and valued<\/li>\n<li>to have fun<\/li>\n<li>to have the opportunity to develop a personal Christian faith<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What else do I need to know?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Seniors have a special uniform that they can wear. \u00a0As everyone wears the same thing they feel as though they belong. \u00a0However nobody is excluded because they do not have the right clothes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is Seniors?
